HESTELO Web Portal v2.0

Objectives

Develop an interactive web application based on web technologies like HTML5, AJAX y CSS3. This web application will implement a number of basic features that will work in conjunction with an application for a mobile platform (initially, iOS).

Basic Features

The application must have at least the following sections:

  • Planning the study.
  • Statistics.
  • Calendar.

The system should allow users to plan one or more study sessions. All study session will consist of a start and end date and a minimum number of hours of study.

The system should have predefined Study Modes, adapted to different dynamics study (intensive, review, day to day…).

The system should allow the user to view and modify your study sessions. For this display a Calendar with past study sessions ( and if these have been exploited) and future.

The system should allow the user to view their Statistics, showing graphs of session utilization rate and session performance.

Future FeaturesÂ

The system would allow the user to obtain and share Achievements, encouraging the study using a similar dynamic to that of a video game. These achievements could be shared by the major social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Tuenti, Google ….).

The system could plan, based on statistics and user goals, the duration and frequency of study sessions.

The system could have an area to collect articles about study habits, mnemonics, tips… or even function as a kind of forum where users could share their tricks.

Technical Considerations

The design should be simple and elegant, preferred the use of color schemes for image loading. In addition to improving usability, allow reuse of web application design more comfortably.

The HTML5 Canvas tag allows the inclusion of graphs generated by JavaScript libraries . Some interesting bookstores:

http://canvasxpress.org/area.html Free. Very showy.

http://www.rgraph.net/ Free for non-commercial. Probably the most popular.

http://www.createjs.com/#!/EaselJS Multipurpose. Free. Very powerful but nonspecific.

  1. Thanks for the great information

  2. in this development, why do we focus on using HTML5, AJAX and CSS3? Why not try or add another programming language?
