HESTELO:Â Monitoring study habits with a mobile phone

Summary

There are studies unequivocally linking academic success with study habits. In this project we intend to use a smart phone to track the user's study habits. Thereby, the subject can analyze and modify their activity in order to improve their practice routines and learning outcomes expected of them. The main objective of this project is to create an algorithm to determine the various activities of a person he carries his mobile phone while studying.

This project is part of the modern strategies used successfully in other areas of life such as sports training, telecare, hospital monitoring, etc., to implement the smart phone capabilities (smartphones) in monitoring the activities of users. These capabilities are based on the new possibilities of sensing of these phones that, although initially not pressed for this purpose, applied with good results to determine the context in which the phone is used in real life and practical.

Objectives

The project aims to determine the types of activities carried out by a student in your study sessions by incorporating sensors smartphones (smartphones) to allow monitoring of them and improve study results from a better study habits. The main objectives are as follows:

  • Being able to detect the different types of activities that are performed in a study session with the help of a smartphone.
  • Determine the characteristics of the study sessions in duration, frequency, periodicity, etc..
  • Collect data and study habits mostárselos the user so as to improve its planning and monitoring.
